How do I navigate your site?

We have tried to make navigation of the JELCO web site as easy as possible.  You should be able to find:

  • Who we are and what we do
  • Where you can buy JELCO cases
  • What makes each of our cases unique
  • Which case is best for your projector and your particular needs
  • What each case looks like with actual photographs and downloadable spec sheets

So how do you find all of this information??  Whenever you see something underlined, it is usually a link to another page with more information about that item.  Besides being underlined,  a link will usually be a different color than the other text on the page and your curser might change appearance (e.g.:  from an arrow into a hand) when it passes over it.  Point your curser at the underlined text and left-click with your mouse; if nothing happens, the text is either not a link or the link is not working.  Some of our images are also links to other pages.  Try clicking on different objects and see what happens!

Which cases will work for my projector?

JELCO currently manufactures 6 different styles of projector cases:

Padded Travel Cases represent the first generation of JELCO cases and are constructed of super strong 600 Denier polyester material with a waterproof lining, firm industrial grade foam, a durable packcloth lining and heavy-duty smooth sliding YKK zippers.  These cases were originally designed as carry-on luggage, but the recent size limits of 22" x 14" x 9" make most of these cases either too large or so close that you'd be risking the airline telling you to check your bag. (JELCO never recommends checking a projector in a padded case!)  While we can no longer guarantee that they'll make it as carry-on luggage, they're still great for transporting projectors in your own vehicle or around an office or college campus.

RP Padded Travel Cases represent the second generation of JELCO cases and are constructed of Dupont Original™ Ballistic nylon fabric for durability and moisture resistance with firm industrial grade foam and rigid ABS plastic interior for protection.  These cases also feature heavy-duty, smooth sliding YKK zippers.  JELCO RP cases were designed to meet the latest carry-on limits and feature our proprietary removable laptop pocket; giving you two cases in one and guaranteeing carry-on size with the RP pocket removed.  (A few RP-style cases are larger than 22" x 14" x 9"---look for the Q logo signifying that case meets all carry-on limits.)

Padded Hard Side Travel Cases follow in the footsteps of our RP Travel Cases.  Constructed of Dupont Original™ Ballistic nylon fabric for durability and moisture resistance with firm industrial grade foam and rigid ABS plastic interior for protection; they also feature heavy-duty, smooth sliding YKK zippers. Most JELCO Padded Hard Side Cases meet the new carry-on limits "as is". Unlike our RP and Padded Travel Cases, the laptop computer rides in the same compartment as the projector with a rigid divider separating them..  Look for the Q logo signifying that case meets all carry-on limits.

Platinum Molded Travel Cases represent the latest generation of JELCO cases and are constructed of a tough ABS plastic shell with a foam-lined interior custom fitted for each specific projector model.  All of our Platinum Molded Cases meet the new carry-on limits.

Carry Bags are guaranteed carry-on size.  The JEL-513CB case is constructed of black Dupont Original™ Ballistic nylon fabric for durability and moisture resistance and feature an adjustable divider for various portable "notebook size" projector/laptop computer combinations.

ATA-Style Shipping Cases have been around for as long as our Padded Travel Cases and are constructed of high-impact ABS plastic over 1/4" plywood with aluminum edges, aluminum valances and steel-reinforced corners.  Each case is custom foamed to fit a specific projector and all come with tilt wheels, extendable aluminum handle and either a key-locking latch or combination lock.  JELCO ATA Cases are made to be checked at the airport or shipped via common carrier like UPS or Federal Express.  Our cases fall into the Spec #300 long life-reusable category; which, amongst other things, specifies that the case should be able to survive 100 trips under normal operating conditions.  Some of our newest ATA cases also meet Q carry on limits!

The style of JELCO case available for your projector model is largely dependent upon the size of your projector.  The new carry-on limits prevent many of the mid-sized and all of the large-sized lcd projectors (sometimes even without a case).

The only JELCO cases available for people flying with large projectors are our ATA 300 style; which can be safely checked without damage to the projector.

Our over-the-shoulder carry bags have been designed for only the smallest, "notebook sized" projectors because we've found most presenters don't want to carry anything over 15 lbs. on their shoulders.

Each style mentioned above has a listing by projector brand and model.  If you can't find your projector listed under the first style you check, try looking under one of the other styles.  You can also use our in-house search engine located at the top of each page or by clicking here:  SEARCH

Which case best fits my needs?

That really depends on which projector model you have and what you're using the case for.  As a general rule, JELCO Padded Travel Cases and Carry Cases are made to be carried with you at all times.  JELCO ATA Style Cases can be checked at the airport or shipped cross-country via common carrier services (e.g.:   Fed Ex or UPS).

Where can I get my case repaired?

With a few exceptions, most parts on JELCO cases are not "user replaceable."  Call us toll-free at 1-888-875-3526 and we will issue you an RMA number.  After you receive the RMA number, you will need to package your case in a cardboard box and send it to:

JELCO, Inc.
450 Wheeling Road
Wheeling, Illinois USA 60090
Attn: RMA #_____________

Your case might be covered by our lifetime limited warranty.  If you believe the repair is a warranty issue, you will need to provide us with proof of purchase clearly showing the purchase date (a copy of a packing slip or invoice from the dealer you purchased the case from will suffice).

Where can I find your spec sheets?

Use the links on our home page (Welcome to JELCO) to view general information about ATA Cases, Carry Cases, Padded Travel Cases, Padded Hard Side Cases, Platinum Molded Travel Cases, Plasma Monitor Cases, SMARTBoard Cases or Other Miscellaneous Cases.  The ATA, Carry, Padded Travel & RP pages have a hyperlink at the top and bottom with a rotating arrow which says "Continue to Product Listings" (The Other Cases page has the products listed right on that page.)

Point your curser at the underlined text and left-click with your mouse.  This will take you to a listing of projectors by name and model number.  The column on the far right lists which JELCO case goes with that particular projector.  Any part number that is underlined is a link to a spec sheet.  Point and click the hyperlink to see a digital image of the case and read a basic description.   Many of our specsheets are also available in .pdf downloadable format, and can be printed as full-color cut-sheets from your PC.  (Look for the link "Download a data sheet for this case.
